Art Classes

Creativity in Action

JOIN THE ARTISTIC JOURNEY

We’re taking a break from classes during June and July with a limited schedule in August and September (will be posted soon) to attend festivals around Colorado. Weekly classes will resume in the fall.

Even for beginners, taking an art class can be immensely beneficial and rewarding. Learn in our studio’s supportive environment where you can explore your creativity without judgment or pressure. Gain foundational skills and techniques through step-by-step guidance.

Our classes provide an opportunity to immerse yourself in a new form of expression. Creating art is a rich and rewarding experience and you may discover an untapped talent or passion along the way.

See below for classes that we are working on. Dates TBD – please check back often. If you have a request for a private session, please email Anya at anya@coloradoartlab.com.

Altered photos art class in Denver

ALTERED PHOTOS
Turn your vacation photos into a watercolor painting.

How it works:

  1. You send us two photos that you would like to work with. We highly recommend landscapes, city scapes, buildings – not faces or animals.
  2. The photos should be of good quality and large enough to fit on an 8.5 x 11 paper.
  3. We’ll print those on photo paper for you and show you how to transform them in class.
  4. All supplies will be provided.
Alcohol ink tree painting

PAINTING WITH ALCOHOL INK

Alcohol inks are a fun and versatile medium with many applications. Watch how they transform a simple object into an impressionistic work of art.

We’ll be painting on letter size Yupo paper – a synthetic paper with a plastic like surface that’s made for alcohol inks. It allows the ink to flow versus being absorbed.

We’re still working on some samples to get you inspired to try this class. Stay tuned!

SO NEW – WE DON’T HAVE A NAME FOR IT YET

This class is still in the planning phase. It’s an intricate assembly/construction project. It has everything from yupo paper stencils to alcohol inks.

More details and photos coming in the fall. What we do now, though, is that it’s very unique.

WATERCOLOR FOR BEGINNERS

This will be a 2-part class teaching techniques and getting you started with watercolors. Everything you need to know to hone your skills and get started with this wonderful medium.
